Rugby World Cup 2011

Rugby World Cup 2011

It’s less than two weeks before the start of the 2012 Rugby World Cup in New Zealand. Argentina will open their bid by facing their old foes England at Dunedin on the 10th September.

After suffering a heavy defeat in the warm up to Wales (28-12) they will surely feel that they have something to prove going into this tournament. Currently ranked 9th in the world and made up mainly of players playing top class Rugby in France, there’s no reason they can’t make a major contribution to this years competition. Especially since they finished 3rd at the last World Cup.

Led by their charismatic and creative fly-half Conteponi, their first game against England will then be followed by games against Romania, Scotland and Georgia.  If they can win three of their group matches they will go through to the quarter finals as group runners up. Should they win all four, they could go through as group winners and have a much better draw in the next round.

Vamos, Vamos, Argentina!
